Experienced Automotive Service Technician & Mechanic

Experienced Automotive Service Technicians and Mechanics are required for full-time positions in the Newcastle West area.

Cara Motorhomes are always on the lookout for highly motivated and talented individuals to join our team.

Due to continued expansion, we are currently seeking Automotive Service Technician and Mechanic to join our service team. Agents for leading motorhome manufacturers Dethleffs, Sunlight, and Rapido while newly appointed Fiat service professionals we provide an end to end care for all our customer needs.

 

𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬:

 

 - Service & repair vehicles in accordance with manufacturers guidelines and dealership standards

 - Performing work as outlined on the job card with efficiency and accuracy

 - Using diagnostic equipment and a systematic approach, to ensure vehicle faults are diagnosed and repaired correctly

 - Examining the vehicle and performing vehicle health checks to determine if additional safety or service work is required

 - Complete service documentation in line with ISO, warranty, and dealership requirements

 - Maintaining a clean and neat workspace and adhering to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards

 - Attend professional training when requested

 

𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬:

 - Qualified Motor Mechanic/Technician

 - Ability to work on own initiative and be a good team player

 - Good communication and organisational skills

 - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Must work well as part of a team or on their own initiative.

 

Apprentice Mechanic

We're looking for an eager Apprentice Mechanic to join our team at Cara Motorhomes.

 

Due to continued expansion, we are currently seeking candidates that are passionate and motivated. The successful candidate will be

working in a busy well-equipped workshop with a team of dedicated professionals assisting in the servicing and repairing of

vehicles to the highest of manufacturer's standards and will have the opportunity to progress their career through attending

dealership manufacturer training programs.

 

Candidates must have the following attributes:

 - Have a keen interest in the motor industry.

 - Possess strong organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail.

 - Good communication and interpersonal skills.

 - Works well on their own initiative and as part of a team.

 

Cleaning Staff

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performing cleaning activities such as mopping, sweeping, dusting, polishing, and vacuuming.

  • Ensuring that every premises and motorhomes are cleaned to a high standard and inspected.

  • Making sure that there are always enough cleaning supplies.

  • Protecting and maintaining equipment.

  • Notifying management regarding damages or disturbances.

  • Adhering to health and safety standards.

  • Inspecting and turning mattresses.

  • Replacing dirty linen with clean items.

  • Restocking vehicles and supplies in premises.

 

Carpenter/ Cabinet Maker

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Operating woodworking machines and using hand tools to cut, shape and form wood

  • Fitting parts together using glue and clamps

  • Reinforcing joints using nails or screws

  • Trimming joints

  • Sanding wooden surfaces and applying veneer, stain or polish to finished products

  • Repairing or restyling wooden furniture or fixtures

  • Marking outlines or dimensions on wood

  • Preparing or interpreting drawings or blueprints

  • Preparing work estimates

 

Office Administrator

An Office Administrator completes clerical and administrative tasks. Their main duties include welcoming and directing visitors, coordinating meetings and appointments and performing clerical tasks, like answering phones and responding to emails

Good organisational and communication skills required.

 

Vehicle Parts Storekeeper

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Oversees computerised parts catalogue system and maintains a running inventory of regular and special-order parts and supplies.

  • Dispenses parts to service mechanics.

  • Identifies optimum sources for replacement parts and assemblies.

  • Purchase standard items.

  • Receives and inspects incoming shipments for correct quantity and quality of materials.

  • Process invoices for payments and maintain proper records.

  • Obtains quotes on major expenditures and obtains approval for nonroutine purchases.

  • Maintain knowledge of pricing, changes in parts, and technical service bulletins through collaboration with sales and other company staff.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent organisational skills.

  • Basic understanding of automotive parts and mechanical systems.

  • Basic mathematical skills to develop and maintain invoices and inventories.

  • Proficient with or able to quickly learn the inventory system.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software programs.

Experience:

  • At least two years of experience in an automotive or truck parts warehouse, repair center, dealership, or similar facility highly preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
