It's amazing how quickly time flies! Another year has almost come and gone, and we'll soon be entering 2023. Here at Cara, we're looking forward to another busy and exciting year ahead. As you can see the staff are excited to get into the holiday spirit by putting up decorations and getting into the festive mood. Winterisation
The weather so far has been quite frosty compared to previous years, which can be quiet harsh on motorhomes. However, many people still go camping during this time of year. It's peaceful, the Christmas markets are open, and Ireland can be beautiful in the winter months.
So why not make the most of it? Whether you're visiting family, doing some Christmas shopping, or simply enjoying the crisp winter weather, here are some top tips for camping in the winter season ⛄️❄️
1. Check your Tyres: 🚐
Always make sure you have plenty of water/oil/anti-freeze (if necessary) etc. in your motorhome plus a spare in case you need a top-up at any stage on your trip.
2. Check your Fluids: 💧

3. Leveling Blocks: 🚐
Always try and park on a flat surface, however, if this is not possible always keep a set of leveling blocks with you in order to prevent your motorhome from rolling.
If you do not have a set of leveling blocks you can purchase these from our parts department for €35.
4. Get a Cover for your Motorhome: ⛺️
When parking up your motorhome for the wintery nights it might be a good idea to keep it covered in order to reduce/prevent dampness preferably with straps for a tight hold.
If you do not have a motorhome cover please give us a call on 069-66480 and enquire about obtaining one through our parts department.
5. Use Propane instead of Butane gas: 💨
Butane has a higher freezing point and won’t gasify, unlike propane.
6. Minimize condensation: 🌧
Good interior air quality and sufficient ventilation is essential.
To ensure optimal ventilation, the heater should be at the highest setting, and roof storage cabinets, curtains, and blinds should be opened.
In the morning, lift up all cushions, air out storage boxes, and dry any damp areas to prevent any mold or mildew from forming.

Rental Motorhome - Disposal Camera Pictures
We have now also reached the end of another busy rental season. We've had another great year thankfully and it was great meeting everyone again! We've met a lot of familiar faces again this year and we also had the pleasure of meeting many first timers from all different parts of the world, from as far as Donegal to Germany to America!!
We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone for allowing us to be a part of your first experience in a motorhome. It was great to get the feedback and have the fun and exciting atmosphere in here too.
As part of an addition to this years rentals we also included a Kodak disposable camera so we could be a part of the journey! We got some amazing photos, from one little boy in particular who had such a great time trick or treating around the country in one of our motorhomes!!
Keep an eye out, he may have a big future in photography!
